What is it?
What is it?
A technique that is applied to the images taken from an aerial medium (satellite, airplane, drone) to extract information from an area in different regions of the electromagnetic spectrum (visible, thermal, infrared,...) thus obtaining information that we could not capture with the naked eye.
The availability of a time series of images also allows the temporal variable to be introduced into spatial studies.

It is applied from local studies (eg, water status of a crop) to global phenomena.

There is a close relationship with Geographic Information Systems because image processing is a source of spatial data.
